Trusting in the God of Miracles?

It is sometimes the simplest things, almost childlike in understanding, that grab you. This hymn I knew, but as I came across it today it seemed so very apt. The words drew me in ... peace comes from simply trusting in our loving, all-wise Saviour and one can never do that enough!

I do not know what lies ahead .. do you?

DO YOU KNOW ONE WHO DOES?

I Do!

Link HERE if video not showing.

I Do Not Know What Lies Ahead,
The Way I Cannot See;
Yet One Stands Near To Be My Guide,
He’ll Show The Way To Me:

I Know Who Holds The Future,
And He’ll Guide Me With His Hand;
With God Things Don’t Just Happen,
Everything By Him Is Planned.
So As I Face Tomorrow,
With Its Problems Large And Small,
I’ll Trust The God Of Miracles,
Give To Him My All.

I Do Not Know How Many Days
Of Life Are Mine To Spend;
But One Who Knows And Cares For Me
Will Keep Me To The End:

I Know Who Holds The Future,
And He’ll Guide Me With His Hand;
With God Things Don’t Just Happen,
Everything By Him Is Planned.
So As I Face Tomorrow,
With Its Problems Large And Small,
I’ll Trust The God Of Miracles,
Give To Him My All.

I Do Not Know The Course Ahead,
What Joys And Griefs Are There;
But One Is Near Who Fully Knows,
I’ll Trust His Loving Care:

I Know Who Holds The Future,
And He’ll Guide Me With His Hand;
With God Things Don’t Just Happen,
Everything By Him Is Planned.
So As I Face Tomorrow,
With Its Problems Large And Small,
I’ll Trust The God Of Miracles,
Give To Him My All.

Hymn writer ~ Eugene L. Clark (1947 copyright)

Longtime music and radio consultant for the Back to the Bible Broadcast. Clark studied music at Wheaton College and at Moody Bible Institute before joining Back to the Bible in 1950 as an organist. He later served as the program's music director, manager and producer. He was active in broadcasting until 1963, when arthritis and blindness confined him to bed. --Daniel Mahraun (from Lincoln Journal Star, 1 Jul 1982, p.30, on newspapers.com)

Written just after the end of World War 2 (c. 1947), there was such hardship and suffering we cannot imagine in UK, Europe and even across to USA, as lots of folk emigrated... so the writer of this hymn with his ill health and sad times experienced the things of which he was writing.

It is a long time since I wrote about a hymn - however I often listen to and/or sing them... even in the night!
What a wonderful promise this is!

Yet the Lord will command his lovingkindness in the daytime,
and in the night his song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life.
Psalm 42:8

What a wonderful promise!
How rich are we?
1. Gods commands that we KNOW of the wonder His loving kindness in the day.
Do YOU know that Love and Kindness?
2. The night He will fill with song (if we let Him) ... and is “with me”
He is in those songs, hymns, and is with me.
Never alone.
3. I, then, by day and by night make my prayer to the God of my life!
Don’t you love to meditate?
To chew over the word of God?
Yes, it will be worth it all when we see Jesus.. one glimpse of His dear face, all sorrow will erase...
Today it may seem difficult, hard, horrid... and a very steep hill up a dark path to climb, but take heart, weary pilgrim!
Press on! there is up there a land that is fairer than day, and by faith we shall see it afar!
This below is my prayer for you ❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏

Numbers 6:24-26
The Lord bless thee, and keep thee:
The Lord make his face shine upon thee,
and be gracious unto thee:
The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee,
and give thee peace.

Today the 20th January is Inauguration Day in USA. It may seem distant to those who live elsewhere, but here in the little country town in NSW Aust, where I live, it’s most definitely prayer-worthy.

May God have mercy on us all, and may God bless America, and wherever you live, too.
The current events of President Biden arriving and the exiting of President Trump affect us all whether we live there or not.
Especially for us as Christians - and so I’m praying for Godly decisions to be made by Biden in respect to Israel, the unborn “about to be aborted” babies, businesses, the everyday people of USA, all of whom President Trump protected thus far.

Where the future goes, only God knows.
I saw this often when in panhandle Florida in USA, over doorways, buildings, on money:
In God we trust”
 - may this truth live on in all our hearts.

Thank you especially if you take the time to leave a comment, that’s deeply appreciated. So VERY much.

Special shout out to Rita R. for her lovely comments, I can thank most people personally, but I can’t with you ... so I do now.

Praying God’s watch-care upon you and all you love - wherever you maybe.
“Our Heavenly Father knoweth.”
“He careth for you.”
Prayer Hugs, 🙏🤗❤️

PS. this is a really, excellent video by Martyn Iles, of Aust. Christian Lobby, on Kamala Harris the new Vice President.
She is VERY bad news - link HERE, or below. It will shock you. 😢
EDIT: a friend just wrote this to me.. and  it's a precious gem!
"God can use Biden and Harris in any way He wants.
Every time Balaam went to curse Israel he ended up blessing them and even his donkey had stern words for him, so we should not fear man but trust in God."

PS If you haven’t I'd love it you to join as a wonderful encourager of this blog ...  link HERE.  Thank YOU to those who have done so already. It really encourages me to keep on. 😊

Thank you precious friend. Often we in America think that the USA is the only country in the world and that our problems are ONLY ours. But the truth is that we each, in each of our countries, face the same issues because the evil one "walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." and he doesn't limit his activity to America. Thank you for your prayer of support today, especially for healing of hearts that feel broken.

Shaz, your words of hope and encouragement are always a balm for me. Yes, we are entering a dangerous, uncertain time in the world, but we can rest in God, knowing He is fully in control. He will put all things to right in the end.
Blessings!

Hi Shaz ... thank you for reaching out with more scriptural encouragement! What a sweet blessing you are! I'm praising the Lord because He has kept me in such peace throughout the political events in the US. I can rest in Him knowing that He is in control. I just sent you an email; I found the link in the profile section of your Calligraphy blog. Hope it makes it to you. May the Lord richly bless and keep you and your family, Shaz!

Thank you for every prayer you prayed that this calamity would not befall our precious nation of America. I do not, in any way, understand why our earnest, fervent prayers have not yet been answered, and so many are completely broken-hearted. I can't bear to watch the video you included, as I cannot take hearing one more terrifying fact about the evil that has invaded our White House ILLEGITIMATELY. I am so grateful for your prayers and support during this difficult time and trust the Lord will richly bless you.

Such wonderful treasures of verses that you shared dear friend... so thankful our hope lies in the Lord, and we can rest assured that He has a plan, even if we cannot understand what it is. May the Lord bless and keep you in Australia... thankful for all the prayers you have prayed for our country. May God have mercy on us... I know He will, and know that He is able to protect us through it all. Much love to you!

There are so many things happening in our world today and yet we can KNOW that God is in control. He is letting things happen but, as with Job, we also KNOW that He is holding back far more evil than we can ever imagine. For this alone we can rejoice and and give thanks in ALL circumstances, knowing that God is in Heaven and He does whatever He pleases.(Ps 115:3). We know that He is a God of mercy, love and righteousness, this pleases Him. Let us stand firm and trust in Him even though the waves and winds are all around us and we feel like we are sinking!

We don't know what lies ahead, only our Savior knows-He holds the future and He guides us if we let him. Life isn't always easy, but if we trust in the Lord we know where we will go and it will be better than earth. As much as I love this earth, I know better awaits me one day. I thank you for praying for our country as these leaders effects other countries as well. KH scares me, but I've got to trust in the Lord that He will work through her somehow as well as JB. Thank you for a wonderful post! Hugs, Brenda

Oh how I love the old hymns, they touch my heart so. The verses you chose are wonderful and so encouraging to us in these hard days. I know whom I believe, and I believe He is able. He can lead these new leaders in the way He wants them to go, BUT, he may also leave us to deal with the mire our country has become, and wash His hands of us since as a nation we've turned our back on Him.
Whatever happens, I know that I have my ultimate home in Heaven with our Lord. Praise Him!
Blessings,
Betsy

Beautiful!! You are such an encouragement to so many! God does know the future and one day His timing will be understood, but now we walk by faith and we can sing these wonderful hymns to comfort us! Blessings and sending a hug, Roxy

this post was good to read!! I enjoy the music and scripture. Also sharing how God make things right in His hands as we have a new president that has been quite the man lately with what he is doing, via executive orders, instead of going thru the house and senate. God has a plan and we need to keep our eyes on God, at all times. Sermon at church was Exodus 34 and Lord said back then what not to do. We need to do the same thing. Remember that Jesus came to earth to help us, care for us and save is from our sins by dying on the cross and was resurrected!!! He is the best God there ever will be!! His mercies are new every morning.!!!! Great His is faithfulness!! Have a blessed week!!...Becky

I'm a little late to this party Shaz. Obviously the inauguration is over and deconstruction is taking place. He is not protecting the unborn (yeah and he is supposed to be a practicing Catholic). He is not protecting our jobs. He is not protecting our country period. The only thing he and his party are good for is to hand out money and to pester citizen Trump because they are trying to denigrate him for 2024.
