Are You At Wits' End Corner?

Well, want to say first of all I am sorry for not sharing here as much as would like, despite the shut down it seems I’m busier! Also to be honest I have been struggling with the isolation .. even though not really feeling alone, I’m missing my family so much - brethren, friends, church,  etc. like everyone else.
And am sure it’s worse where you are, so I really am grateful.
And good news today!
 ... ta dah!
Things are loosening a little on visiting family this Fri, here in NSW of Aust. Yay! Pray it will with you too soon.. ❤
I was just now writing to a dear sister and as I wrote these verses and this poem came to mind!
I've love this passage and the key thought, so let us meditate briefly!
Psalm 107:24-31
These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits' end.
Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

Love these verses or really the whole Psalm, especially He hears their cries and brings them out of the their sore distresses
How rich are we to have our Father’s loving watchcare upon us!!
Then He makes the storm calm..
then they’re glad because they be quiet!
(Oh yesss!)
And He brings them to their desired haven.
The hymn "Haven of Rest" comes to mind, so sharing šŸ˜Š (link also here).

This beautiful poem is really wonderfully woven around this Psalm.
Often shown with no authorship, but a dear sister in Christ is given credit at end. Took this from Bible Truth Publishers, US, they've copies of it for sale there.

Are You At Wits' End Corner?
Are you standing at “Wits' End Corner”, Christian, with troubled brow?
Are you thinking of what is before you, And all you are bearing now?
Does all the world seem against you, And you in the battle alone?
Remember at Wits' End Corner Is where God’s power is shown.
Are you standing at “Wits' End Corner” Blinded with wearying pain?
Feeling you cannot endure it, You cannot bear the strain.
Bruised through the constant suffering, Dizzy and dazed, and numb
Remember at Wits' End Corner, Is where Jesus loves to come.
Are you standing at “Wits' End Corner” Your work before you spread?
Or lying begun, unfinished And pressing on heart and head.
Longing for strength to do it. Stretching out trembling hands
Remember at “Wits' End Corner” The Burden Bearer stands.
Are you standing at “Wits' End Corner” Yearning for those you love,
Longing and praying and watching, Pleading their cause above,
Trying to lead them to Jesus Wondering if you’ve been true?
He whispers at “Wits' End Corner” “I’ll win them as I won you.”
Are you standing at “Wits' End Corner” Then you’re just in the very spot.
To learn the wondrous resources Of Him Who faileth not!
No doubt to a brighter pathway Your footsteps will soon be moved
But only at Wits' End Corner Is the God who is able, “proved.”

Love the verses of the poem but the second last one really speaks to me specifically in spiritual longing for my family to know our sweet LORD, as I have come to know Him, most of all for salvation, but those Who know Him that they would read and heed His Word!
And of course the work spread before me fills so much of my days, too often I do not take all my burdens to my wonderful LORD in prayer.šŸ™šŸ™šŸ™
Love the key thought in this! "God doesn't give us what we can handle,
God helps us handle what we are given!"

Thanks for popping over dear ones, truly appreciate those who are able to comment more than I can say, may the LORD bless you all and keep you and your dear ones, well and safe in the hollow of His hands.
Prayer hugs,

  5. This reminds me of a little song I heard as a young person that said something about "wit's end corner, that's where God hangs out." We often find Him when we come to the end of ourselves. God bless you, sweet sister.

  6. Shaz, This post has been a blessing to me. This is one of my favorite poems. The words in the first verse, "Does all the world seem against you, And you in the battle alone? Remember at Wits' End Corner Is where God’s power is shown." so often expresses my feelings. But God is always right there to meet the need when I turn to Him. He knows everything that happens to each of His children and nothing can touch us without His approval. I am so glad that we can trust Him through every problem in our life. God bless you! You are faithful friend and sister in Christ. Hugs

  7. Good Morning dear Shaz. I hadn't heard this poem before but it certainly does resonate with me. Thank you very much for sharing with us. The paragraph about our dear ones is especially true for me. I long to have our family with me some day in Heaven. Oh, how I pray that with all of my heart.
I'm glad to hear the restrictions are easing a bit for you soon. We still are to maintain social distancing. I went to the grocery store this morning for the first time since this all began. I've done a couple of grocery pick-ups, but haven't been inside. It was odd to say the least.
Take care and may God bless you.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  8. This was a blessing! I have never heard this poem before. It has a lot to think about in it, and is encouraging. Thank you for sharing it, and all of the Scripture verses. Especially love the one... "He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still." Have often loved another similar verse: "when the waves thereof arise, Thou stillest them.". I will probably find myself referring back to this post again.

  9. Thank you Shaz - I have been at 'wit's end corner' this week and God has met me there - praise His Holy Name. How easily we become distracted, and let our eyes and mind focus on the problems, rather than on the Problem Solver!
    Bless you dear sister
    Stay safe

  10. thankfully right now I am doing well, I think it was such a shock at first but now I am getting use to this time. I think it has given me more time to spend with God, reflect on how I am living my life for him and others. I am wondering if we will come together too soon, and those that are most vulnerable will be in such want for hugs and companionship that they might be exposed and not fair well if they get the virus, praying God gives good judgement to everyone as we slowly come back together!
