Daily Light - Endurance for Today

(Excerpt from Daily Light - July 31 Morning - Oops, it's been in my drafts a lo-oong time!)

Endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. II Tim. 2:3

I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Isa. 55:4

It became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. Heb. 2:10

We must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. Acts 14:22

We wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God. Eph. 6:12, 13

We do not war after the flesh: (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds.) II Cor. 10:3, 4

The God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. I Pet. 5:10

Sometimes, it feels like we're fighting a losing battle?!

Who is the victor in those thoughts?

Not Christ, of course, it is Satan.

As  a result, we will be the victim of our own foolish thoughts, thus dishonour Christ's holy name.

Sad, indeed.

As our Saviour was  "perfected through suffering", so too are we.

"..no servant is greater than his master.." Jesus said, John 13:16.

So suffer, yes, we will. Whether by the illness of the frailty of flesh, sinful self, circumstances or those around us, nearest & dearest.

Read those verses again!

Find great rich encouragement, not in suffering, but in the fruit of such suffering - fruit of the Spirit of God.

Dont let "We must through MUCH tribulation enter into the kingdom of God" surprise you.

WATCH .. BE YE ALSO READY..

"Take ye heed, watch and pray

for ye know not when the time is. Mark 13:33

"Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God..." Ephes 6:13a

Be in the Word, be in prayer frequently, not a quick duck into it when convenient! Frequent, deep drinking of the fellowship of Prayer and the Living Word.

"Pray without ceasing."

True, constant communication is as natural as breathing.

If video not showing, see link here - Victory in Jesus

…this is the victory that overcometh the World,  even our FAITH.."

For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world:
and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
I John 5:4

FAITH not in ourselves, but in our Living God, Whom we serve!

He never fails.

Glory to His name.

Lord bless, save and keep you in all things.

Praying for you in your day, to have "victory in Jesus, our Saviour forever..."

Treasure that thought and rejoice in the length, depth and breadth of it.

Thanks to all who pop across to read this blog and Thank YOU, especially if you’re able to leave some love and encouragement.

  1. These scriptures gave me such peace and comfort today, Shaz, especially with all that's transpiring in the country of Ukraine right now. We must remember that in this world, we will have suffering and troubles, but we have the ultimate victory in Christ Jesus. May we always trust in Him!
    Blessings!

  2. What a thrill it was to see a new post from you show up in my inbox. This is very needed for me today...thank you! So easy for me to get sidetracked in looking at all my trials and troubles, and not remembering the very good things the Lord blesses us with through these very things if we are His. This is a comfort and encouragement to me to rejoice in the Lord, praising Him that He uses all the seemingly bad things in my life for my good.

I remember when the Lord first saved me, I had the mistaken notion that a Christian's life would be smooth sailing, and was so dismayed when the first real troubles came into my life, making me think I was out of the Lord's will. It is such a comfort to know that these things are ordained of our Lord, and we can expect tribulations - sweetened by knowing they are from His loving hand for good.

  3. I am reading Deuteronomy at the moment and time and time again, the LORD commands that we do not forget all that He has done. It is easy to be fearful and anxious. I am concerned about the situation in the Ukraine and also the possibility of the need for NATO to bring us into war. The thought of our son being conscripted fills me with dread. However, these thoughts are fleshly thoughts, not Godly thoughts. His will be done in Ukraine and throughout our nations. As you say, victory is won on our knees.

  4. Hello Dear Shaz:
I was so glad to see you had written a post for us. What a joy to know that no matter what we go through here on this earth, we have a home in Heaven with the LORD. I pray each day for the strength to stand with courage unto that day.
My heart is with the people in Ukraine and with the soldiers on both sides. So many young Russian boys did not even choose to go to war and they were lied to.
I also weep for the people of Afghanistan who are living once again under sharia law. So many people, so many evil bullies. We were told it would be like this in the last days. Wars, earthquakes, famines, etc. Come LORD Jesus!
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy

  5. Shaz,I enjoyed reading your latest post. Life is never easy, even when I was young I remember to pray. Good scriptures you shared. Reading God's word is so good and I need to keep daily ๐Ÿ“š reads. I'm going thru a Bible study on Elijah that Priscilla Shirer wrote. It's very good. Hugs and blessings, Becky

  6. How true are these words, Shaz - the older I get the more I realise that what you have said here is the truth. No one is exempt from trials, tribulation or suffering in this life, but we have an everlasting hope and home ahead.
    Stay safe
    Blessings

  7. These scriptures do offer much peach and comfort in times today Sis. It's so sad to think of all that is going on right now. There has been said that a big fight is coming, hoping that doesn't mean another World War, but I know life is never easy....there is struggles and suffering and always will be until we are in God's Kingdom. Yes, no truer words were spoken in this post dear sis. I hope you are hanging in there and know that we love you! Love, hugs and prayers, Brenda
