Meditation - “Christ, Who is our Life” ...

Colossians 3:1-4
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
*****
What beautiful words! We are not our own.. we belong to the Lord of Glory!

“Christ, Who is our Life” ...” your life is hid in Christ in God”
Did you catch the circle of this sequence?
.. your life is hid in Christ in God ..
Christ, Who is our life..
Eternity will be amazing! as we will then be like Him, we will truly have the mind of Christ. (1 John 3:2 here)

The key words that have been grabbing me this past week is the phrase:
My "life is hid in Christ, in God".
Hidden...
... kept by the Almighty power of God (1 Pet. 1:5).
So why fear?
Why worry?
Why whinge?
Why doubt?
.. "your life is hid in Christ, in God".
Not a thing can touch us there.
We are kept by His omnipotence.
Needs will be met.
Answers will be given.
One who causes grief in our life, will be dealt with ...
Blessings will come.

In God's timetable, not in ours.
"Thou art my hiding place.."
This eternal, "present-here-now" position IN Christ does not promise  there will be no trials.
 For Jesus said:
"In the world ye shall have tribulation,
BUT be of Good Cheer, I have overcome the world." John 16:33

God's grace is ALL sufficient.
So let us ..
"Be still and know that I am God."
Be still.. know... I am...
Truly then we will know that our "life is hid in Christ in God".
If this seems too airy-fairy, too hard to understand in all its length, depth, breadth???
Then pray.
Ask God to reveal it to you.
What it means to me, the simple joy, peace, comfort it brings me, will be different for you.
We are not the same.
Our needs are different.

Our God knows no limits.

It's we who limit Him.
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God,

that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not;
and it shall be given him." James1:5

Lord bless you, dear ones.
These scriptures greatly blessed my heart.
They are good food to meditate thereon.
Praying for you,

  2. Thank you for this encouragement. If we could just learn to be still and rest in Him how much better off we would be. The song, "He Giveth More Grace" is one of my very favorite songs. "When we have exhausted OUR store of endurance" which is so very small, then we can borrow from His which is inexhaustible. How very blessed we are as children of God. Hugs.

  3. Have been away from home visiting family, and not keeping up with blogs as much. Appreciate as always the sharing of God's Word - it's good to read through your two last posts. In answer to your question on my blog, yes, I do know of Bible Truth Publishers. I've ordered books from them in the past, and now that you mention it, I remember that I got the "Refiner of Silver" article from their online digital library of free books and magazine articles. So, come to think of it, I probably could've found it again and copied and pasted it instead of typing it up. :) Well, thank you again for sharing these thoughts and God's Word with us on here!

  4. It is such a wonderful comfort to know that we are hid with Christ in God. Nothing can touch us that hasn't passed through His hand first, and oh, to think how much He loves us! I think often of Job and how God put limitations on what satan could do to him and bring into his life. At the end, God gave him double for his trouble, too. May the Lord bless you, dear sister. Praise God, He is answering prayer on our behalf, and I want to thank you for praying for us. Please continue to keep praying for upcoming health situations. I am so thankful for you and your encouraging blog!

  5. Good Morning dear Shaz. I somehow missed this post. It's been a busy few weeks and I apologize dear sister. You put so much thought into these posts that I don't like missing any of them.
I am so thankful to be hid in His hand. The trials of life are like firey darts being aimed at us, but yet, He has us safe in His hand. Ultimately, we wil be with Him in Heaven. Away from all of these trials. Thank you for the timely reminder.
    Blessings,
    Betsy
